This is an very comprehensive safari exploring the south and western desert regions of Namibia, with the majestic Fish River Canyon, and the Sossusvlei region in the Naukluft Park as centre points of this tour.
This tour has two accommodation style options: All tented camping, or you could up-grade to all bedded lodge accommodation.
SAFARI OVERVIEW:
Departing from Windhoek, we travel via the rugged Khomas-Highlands and Namaland to the Naukluft Park and Desert region.
This area has a scenic beauty of wide open grass savannahs and rugged mountain out-crops set on the edge of the red dunes of the Sossusvlei region.
We begin our safari adventure with an visit to the ‘N/a’an ku sê Namib Carnivore Conservation Centre.
Here we will learn about the various big predator cats, cheetah and leopard, being protected in this semi-desert region.
After our big cat experience, it is a short drive to our desert camp / lodge, close to the spectacular red tinted fossil dunes of Sossusvlei.
Departing very early after breakfast, we make our way deeper into the Desert, towards the majestic red tinted dunes of Sossusvlei.
Here we will spend the day exploring the dunes, and also be able to view various desert wildlife seen here.
There is also a visit to the small, but very interesting Sesriem Canyon. Later in the afternoon, we return to our desert camp.
Day three, we begin to make our way further south. This is a world of wide open vistas, and the Namib Rand Nature Reserve offers many wildlife sightings of Oryx, zebra and springbok. Onward we travel through little villages towards our final destination for the day, the Atlantic coast and town of Luderitz.
On day four, we will visit the old diamond ghost town of Kolmanskop. Before making our way to the spectacular Fish River Canyon. We visit the majestic Fish River Canyon at the Hobas Viewpoint.
Departing from the Fish River Canyon, we travel to a rare Mesosaurus Fossil Site, and the unique and rare Quiver-trees at the Dolomite Park. Here there will be time to explore this very interesting environment. Leaving this interesting area behind, we make our way into the famed Kalahari Desert region to the Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch and their cheetah conservation project. Tonight we will stay close to these cheetahs. There is an optional cheetah visit available at Bagatelle.
After an early morning game-viewing drive, we depart via Rehoboth for Windhoek. Here our safari ends with an drop-off at your accommodation. Breakfast and lunch are included.
