The Namib-Naukluft National Park and Sossusvlei with its majestic dunes and vistas, is the most visited point of attraction in all Namibia.

This scenic region is not just all desert and dunes, but also home to many desert wildlife species such as Oryx, Springbok, Ostrich and even the endangered cheetah.

The many perennial river-beds are covered with various tree species and form green havens for animals and birds.

The Sossusvlei area is about 4-hours drive from Windhoek via Rehoboth, and about 5-hours from Swakopmund via the Kuiseb Canyons.

If on an self-drive tour and travelling from the coast, great care should be taken, as it is an gravel road, and the canyon sections is very dangerous with sharp curves and loose stones.
